Mechanised Lateral Development and Fleet Maintenance
The Perkoa zinc mine is in the Sanguié Province of Burkina Faso, 120km west of the capital Ouagadougou. Byrnecut was awarded the development contract for the establishment of the mine in 2006, under an alliance agreement.
The scope of works included portal construction, decline, vertical and lateral development, and haulage. Byrnecut also managed all fleet maintenance and force work training.
The project was suspended due to the owner’s financial issues.
